Yoga

Yoga means oneness in Sanskrit and it’s a science of balancing and harmonising the body , mind and emotions. Through practice it aims to bring the bodily functions into coordination allowing us to live a healthy life which incorporates physical, emotional, spiritual, mental and vital aspects we need to be fully well.

Todays fast paced world means we suffer more phobias, stress, anxiety, physical ailments that modern life causes. Yoga really began when human kind first realised their spiritual potential could evolve and it was revealed as a divine gift to the ancient sages for us to realise our divine nature.

 

Yoga is now more known as a health and wellbeing practice since we learn Asanas that remove physical discomfort or to help relaxation. However humanity needs to reclaim this spiritual heritage and embrace the central theme that is also a way of connecting with our true selves and a way to achieve our spiritual aims.

There are many types of yoga which I will outline in the sections below, as well as the Yoga sutra of Patanjali who was perhaps founder of yoga and through the teachings of  the sutras  eliminates self defeating properties and will help reclaim our source light of divinity.

I believe by attempting in small steps to incorporate yoga to your daily rituals wake up, midday stretch or late night meditations you will gain an awakening or energy  release of tensions/knots in your mind and body, and promote overall positive wellbeing.
